Hi! My name is James O’Connor.
I am a New York native Filmmaker and Photographer.
I started my career in 2003 as a reality TV camera operator. Those demanding days were great training for sharpening my eye and strengthening my resolve. Over the past 20 years, I have worked consistently in the world of television, film, and new media as a Director of Photography, Camera Operator and Video Editor. I am comfortable shooting in all formats, including 360 VR, and I am currently immersed in motion control time-lapse photography.
I love creating a mood by painting with light, discovering juxtaposition of the beautiful and the melancholic, but most of all, I am passionate about capturing images that serve the story. I’d love to hear yours and facilitate its telling together!
